43 Years in Indonesia, Hino Strengthens Its Contribution to National Manufacturing and Industry

For 43 years of presence and growth in Indonesia, Hino has affirmed its commitment as a long-term strategic partner for the national transportation industry. This commitment is realized through continuous investment in the manufacturing sector, strengthening the domestic industrial ecosystem, and integrated after-sales services to support the operational sustainability of customers.

Through PT Hino Motors Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI), Hino has built an integrated production base covering an area of 296,000 m² with a building area of over 169,000 m², supported by 1,548 employees. This facility has an installed production capacity of up to 75,000 vehicles per year, which are manufactured through Hino Motors Limited, Japan's standard manufacturing lines for light duty, medium duty, and buses.

“Hino's commitment to strengthening the national industry is also reflected in the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of Hino products, which has reached over 40%, plus the Company Benefit Weight (BMP) of 14.10%. This is certainly evidence of a long-term strategy to encourage the use of local components, develop domestic suppliers, and strengthen the national automotive industry supply chain,” explained Harianto. (BMP) of 14.10%. This is clear evidence of our long-term strategy to promote the use of local components, develop domestic suppliers, and strengthen the national automotive industry supply chain," explained Harianto Sariyan, Director of PT HMMI.

In addition to meeting domestic market needs, Hino products and components manufactured in Indonesia also contribute to the global market. Since its first export in 2011, Hino Indonesia has consistently exported complete vehicles (CBU), CKD kits, and components to various countries in Southeast Asia, South America, and East Asia, such as Vietnam, the Philippines, Bolivia, Haiti, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Malaysia, Pakistan, Taiwan, and Japan. This underscores Indonesia's position as part of Hino's global production chain.
