PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) continues to fulfill its commitment to supporting the development of Indonesian human resources through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in the field of vocational education. Under the theme “Hino Indonesia CSR: Developing Excellent Human Resources through Support for Commercial Vehicle Learning Facilities,” Hino has established a strategic collaboration with Cristo Re Polytechnic, Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara.
The ceremony for the handover of Hino engines and vehicle components was conducted by Pieter Andre, Training Division Head of HMSI, together with Iwan Gunarso, Director of PT Indomobil Prima Niaga (IPN), to RD. Doni Migo, Director of Cristo Re Polytechnic, at the Cristo Re Polytechnic Campus, Jl. Lero Wulan, Wairklau, Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara. Hino Indonesia donated one unit of a Hino 500 Series J08C engine, MX 06 transmission, and SH17 axle, which will be utilized as practical learning tools for vocational education students.
The Hino J08C engine is one of Hino's flagship engines for medium duty trucks or the Hino 500 Series, which has been proven to be tough in various business sectors, ranging from logistics, mining, construction, to long-distance transportation. With its high power, optimal torque, and high durability, this engine is designed to handle a variety of operating conditions in Indonesia, including rough terrain and long working hours. Combined with the MX 06 transmission and SH17 axle, this set of components reflects the Quality, Durability, and Reliability (QDR) philosophy that is the main foundation of Hino products.
Pieter Andre, Head of the Training Division at HMSI, stated, “Through this CSR program and the Hino Vocational Partnership Program, Hino Indonesia is committed to supporting the development of young people's competencies so they are ready to meet the evolving needs of the commercial vehicle industry. The practical training facilities we provide are intended to help students understand industry technology and work standards firsthand, making them better prepared when entering the workforce.”
Hino Vocational Partnership Program (HVPP) is a strategic initiative by Hino Indonesia designed to bridge the needs of the commercial vehicle industry with the world of vocational education. Through this program, Hino strives to ensure a workforce that not only understands the basic technical aspects of commercial vehicles, but also has managerial competencies in line with industry standards, particularly in the field of after-sales service, as human resource readiness is a key factor.
Director of PT Indomobil Prima Niaga, Iwan Gunarso, added that “The readiness of excellent human resources in line with industry needs, especially in the field of HINO commercial vehicle automotive, is urgently needed in providing reliable 3S (Sales, Service, Spare Parts) services for customer satisfaction.”
Cristo Re Polytechnic is considered to have great potential as a partner in vocational education development in Eastern Indonesia, particularly in the field of automotive engine maintenance. Through the support of industry-based learning facilities, students are expected to gain a more comprehensive and practical understanding of commercial vehicle systems, while also accelerating the adaptation process when entering the workforce.
“The collaboration with Hino Indonesia is a strategic step for Cristo Re Polytechnic in improving the quality and relevance of vocational education. The support in the form of engines and commercial vehicle components used directly in the industry greatly helps students to understand the working systems of commercial vehicles in real life. We are optimistic that this collaboration will strengthen the competence of graduates so that they are better prepared to compete in the world of work,” said RD. Doni Migo.
Through this program, Hino Indonesia aims to continue contributing to the development of competent and job-ready professionals, while also reinforcing the industry’s role in supporting the equitable distribution of vocational education quality across various regions in Indonesia.
