PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) launched its latest vehicle by introducing the Hino Bus 136 MDBL 4x4 at the GIICOMVEC 2026 exhibition, held from April 8–11, 2026 at JIEXPO Kemayoran. This newest bus model is specifically designed to support operations in challenging terrains such as plantations and mining haul routes, which require durable vehicles capable of traversing various extreme conditions. This launch marks an important milestone as it is the first time the unit has been introduced to the public.
The Hino Bus 136 MDBL 4x4 is designed to transport workers from mess areas or offices to operational sites in plantations or mining areas with heavy terrain conditions. Unlike conventional buses, this vehicle is equipped with a 4x4 drivetrain system, where the transfer case functions to distribute power to both front and rear wheels for optimal performance in off-road conditions. In addition, the bus features a front stabilizer and a wider front track width to enhance vehicle stability and reduce body roll, as well as high ground clearance to safely navigate rough, steep, rocky, and uphill roads.
Powered by the Euro 4-compliant N04C engine, the Hino Bus 136 MDBL 4x4 is designed to operate intensively for up to 24 hours in demanding work environments. Furthermore, it is the only vehicle in its class produced by an authorized sole agent (ATPM) that has obtained the Type Approval Certificate (SUT), allowing it to be registered and legally operated on public roads. This advantage enables the unit to be used flexibly for both off-road and on-road operations.
“Hino understands that each industry sector has different operational needs. With the presence of the latest Hino Bus 136 MDBL 4x4, we aim to provide a safe and reliable transportation solution for plantation and mining companies to support worker mobility in challenging operational areas,” said Alex Sutisna, Vice President Director of HMSI.
In addition to introducing this latest unit, Hino also showcased a range of its flagship commercial vehicles that have been widely used across various industries in Indonesia. From the medium duty truck segment, Hino presented the Hino 500 Series FM 280 JD, known for its robust performance as a dump truck in tough terrains, and the Hino 500 Series FLX 280 JW to meet logistics and distribution operational needs. Meanwhile, from the light duty truck segment, visitors could see the Hino 300 Series 136 MDLR, designed to support efficient distribution mobility across various cargo sectors.
In the outdoor area, Hino displayed vehicles from the heavy duty truck segment, namely the Hino 700 Series ZY 5041 equipped with a dump body, as well as the Hino 700 Series ZS 4141 in chassis form. These units demonstrate how Hino vehicles support heavy industries such as mining. Additionally, Hino also showcased the Hino 300 Series 136 HDX Fire Fighter demonstration unit, highlighting the flexibility of Hino chassis for various specialized applications tailored to customer needs.
At GIICOMVEC 2026, Hino not only presented seven flagship vehicles but also demonstrated its commitment to customer business ease through its Total Support concept, which is Hino’s key strength in Indonesia. This includes after-sales services, availability of genuine spare parts, an extensive dealer network, and digital technology support such as My Hino and Hino Connect, enabling customers to comprehensively monitor their vehicle conditions.
“Hino understands that every vehicle plays an important role in maintaining our customers’ business operations. Therefore, we continue to deliver reliable commercial vehicle solutions tailored to the needs of various industry sectors. Through this support, Hino aims to be part of our customers’ business journey while driving national transportation and economic growth, in line with the spirit of ‘Hino for Indonesia: Driving the Nation’s Transportation,’” Alex concluded.
