PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, provided support to communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), particularly children, through the Child-Friendly Tent program. The assistance was symbolically handed over by Erwin Walesa, Division Head HCGA & CARM HMSI, to Yudi Agus Priyanto from Yayasan Sanggar Dongeng Kepompong in Reo, Manggarai, NTT.
The program was carried out in collaboration with Yayasan Sanggar Dongeng Kepompong to provide a safe and comfortable space for children affected by the earthquake in Salama Village and Motor Pecah Village, Reok District, Manggarai Regency. Through this program, children can rest, study, play, and express their creativity in a safer environment during the post-disaster recovery period.
In its implementation, Hino provided two Child-Friendly Tent units, equipped with learning and playing activity facilities, educational toys and learning programs, as well as assistance for children. Support was also provided through the distribution of milk and snacks for 120 children, mung bean porridge, as well as basic necessities packages for 100 children. In addition, Hino also distributed school supplies in the form of lunch boxes and drinking bottles for 120 children.
"In post-disaster situations, children need a space that can provide a sense of safety as well as an opportunity to return to learning and playing. Through the Child-Friendly Tent program, we want to help create an environment that supports them in returning to their activities more comfortably," said Erwin Walesa, Division Head HCGA & CARM HMSI.
The Child-Friendly Tent program reached 125 children from 94 families in Salama Village and Motor Pecah Village. Assistance was provided through various daily activities designed to support the psychosocial well-being of children while also helping them regain a sense of safety and routine after the disaster.
"Hino's support helps us provide more structured activities for children during the recovery period. We hope this space can become a place for them to learn, play, and once again experience a more comfortable atmosphere after the disaster," said Yudi Agus Priyanto, Yayasan Sanggar Dongeng Kepompong.
In addition to focusing on children's needs, Hino's assistance also included the distribution of clean water for affected communities. A total of 10 water tanks with a combined capacity of 80,000 liters were prepared to meet the clean water needs in affected areas, including communities in Lempis Village, Cibal District. This support is part of Hino's efforts to help meet the basic needs of communities staying in temporary shelters.
"We hope this assistance can provide tangible benefits to the community, both for children and families who are still facing the recovery period. This support is part of Hino's commitment to being present alongside the community amid these difficult circumstances," concluded Erwin Walesa, Division Head HCGA & CARM HMSI.
